A Place To Serve The Lord
Missionary Aces has been ministering to retired missionaries and pastors for almost 60 years! Throughout that time, volunteers have answered God’s call on their lives to serve Him at the Acres - volunteers like Nat & Kris Baker. On their third trip to Missionary Acres, they committed a month to the Lord’s work here. On their first two trips, they came as part of a missions team from First Baptist Church, Colville, Washington (2,000 miles from Missionary Acres!). On their next trip, Nat & Kris wanted to come by themselves and stay longer. Their church was 100% behind them with prayers and support. Their goal was to spend more time getting to know and minister to the residents and to get bigger projects done. They weren’t disappointed and neither was Missionary Acres! Since that trip, Nat & Kris led another team from Colville, WA to come and serve!
““Spending a month volunteering at Missionary Acres was an exceptional experience on so many fronts. It allowed us quality time getting to know the residents. Our hearts were moved learning how they served the Lord. They gave their all in the ministry and many retired with very little for finances. The “Acres” is an enormous blessing providing affordable housing and a safe community for them to retire and live. What a blessing to serve these heroes of the faith!!!!
Staying for a longer term also allowed us to draw alongside the staff assisting in larger projects and accomplishing other needed tasks. There is always work to be done!!!
We knew helping tackle projects would be a help but it is our cup that runneth over. This was better than working for a paycheck any day. The staff and residents expressed their gratitude on several occasions.
Throughout the month, our hearts were becoming more invested than we realized. We underestimated how hard it was going to be to say goodbye. A part of our hearts was left at the Acres and Lord willing – we will be back!!!!””

Skilled laborers can help the small staff at the Acres in a multitude of ways. Would you pray that God would either send you or someone like you to fill this need? Bill Hayes had served the Lord as a volunteer at the Acres for over twenty years. In 2021, at age 85 and still serving, he went home to be with the Lord. We miss him dearly! Will you consider serving here like Bill loved to do? Whether it is one month, six months, or years, your time invested in the Lord’s work at Missionary Acres will not be wasted.
