HOW CAN I HELP?
We're glad you asked!
1. Prayer support: We need God's people to pray for this special ministry!
|
A. Pray for wisdom and strength for the Staff of Missionary Acres B. Pray for the need for a full time maintenance man. C. Pray for Ed & Betty Walden who are trying to raise support so that they can continue to work here at the Acres. D. Pray for our residents. You can meet each one on the "Meet the Residents" page. Each one has special needs. Pray for God's provisions for their daily needs as well as for health and strength to continue serving the Lord. E. Pray that God would lead the right retirees here to Missionary Acres. |
2. Financial support:
|
A. Each member of the staff is supported by Churches and Individuals to serve here. Perhaps you might be led of the Lord to help them. B. Support for the Missionary Acres' Maintenance & Development Fund... at the present time Missionary Acres receives regular support from one Church and Sunday School Class. Perhaps your Church would consider making Missionary Acres a part of their missions giving. |
|
C. Special Needs: 1. "Belly" mower for our new Kubota tractor Cost: $1500 2. Set of new tires for our 1997 Chevy Pickup truck Cost: $ 250 3. Repair Bill for new
clutch, pressure plate, throw-
Cost: $ 850 outbearing, etc., for our 1997
Chevy Pickup Truck.
4. Handicap ramp for the main office building (This Cost:
$1000 ramp has already been constructed.) 5. New fence
around maintenance office buildings and yard. Cost: $1000
6. Baptist Mid-Missions Ozark Retreat House.
Cost:$5000 (approx.) |
We have a small house we would like to remodel and use as a Retreat home for Pastors and Missionaries who need to just get away from it all and have a place of quiet and rest. The house would be completely furnished. We would do this on a donation basis so it would be affordable for all.
3. Volunteers!
Missionary Acres is the result of God's provision and the hard work of hundred's of volunteer workers who have come here over the past 40 years!
Perhaps you could come spend a week, or two, or three (or more!) and help the staff with whatever they happen to be doing at the time of your visit.
Groups are also welcome and encouraged to come. Perhaps you have thought about your men at church going on a Missions Trip. Why not bring them to Missionary Acres. The Acres has been the launching pad for a number of Men's groups who have gone overseas. Housing is provided but all groups and individuals are responsible for providing their own meals.
Projects for groups to work on depend on finances available and specific needs at the time of the groups' visit. Some groups have even raised funds so that they could do a specific project while they are here.
